Nissan Versa: In case of emergency - Hazard warning flasher switch

Push the hazard warning flasher switch firmly to alert oncoming and trailing drivers whenever you are forced to stop or park your Nissan Versa under emergency conditions. When activated, all four turn signal lights will flash simultaneously to signal caution.

WARNING

Whenever you are stopping your Nissan Versa for an emergency roadside situation, always make certain to steer and move the vehicle completely off the active roadway and well onto the shoulder.
Never use the hazard warning flashers while moving normally on the highway unless unexpected, emergency circumstances force you to drive at such a slow speed that your vehicle might otherwise become a sudden hazard to surrounding traffic.
Please remember that standard directional turn signals will not operate while the hazard warning flasher lights are currently switched on.

The emergency hazard flashers will continue to operate reliably with the ignition switch placed in any position, whether the vehicle is running or turned off.

Be aware that some regional jurisdictions and local traffic laws may strictly prohibit the use of the hazard warning flasher switch while the vehicle is actively driving on public roads.

Emergency engine shut off (Push-button ignition models only)

To safely shut off the engine of your Nissan Versa during a critical emergency situation while the vehicle is still in motion, perform either of the following emergency shutdown procedures immediately:

Rapidly push the dash-mounted push-button ignition switch three consecutive times in a rapid sequence taking less than 1.5 seconds total, or
Push and continuously hold down the push-button ignition switch for a duration of more than 2 seconds.
