Nissan Versa: Instruments and controls - Heated seat switches

WARNING

Do not use or allow occupants to use the seat heater if you or the passengers cannot monitor elevated seat temperatures or have an inability to feel pain in body parts that contact the seat cushion. This includes individuals with sensory loss, physical disabilities, skin sensitivity issues, or those under the influence of certain medications. Use of the seat heater by such individuals could result in serious injury or localized burns.

CAUTION

  • The 12V battery could run down and become discharged if the seat heater is operated for extended periods while the engine of your Nissan Versa is not running.
  • Do not use the seat heater for extended, unnecessary periods, and always ensure the system is switched off when the seat is unoccupied.
  • Do not place any materials on the seat that act as heat insulators, such as blankets, cushions, thick protective seat covers, or electronic device cases. Doing so may trap heat, causing the seat surface to overheat and potentially damage the upholstery.
  • Do not place hard, sharp, or heavy objects on the seat cushion. Never pierce the seat with pins, needles, or similar sharp objects, as this can sever or short-circuit the internal electrical heating elements.
  • Any liquid spilled on the heated seat should be wiped up and dried immediately with a soft, dry absorbent cloth to prevent moisture from reaching the electrical components.
  • When cleaning the seat surfaces, never use volatile solvents such as gasoline, benzine, paint thinner, or any similar harsh chemicals, as they can ruin the heating grid and upholstery of your Nissan Versa.
  • If you notice any operational malfunctions, uneven heating, or if the heated seat fails to work entirely, turn the switch off immediately and avoid using it. It is recommended that you visit an authorized NISSAN dealer to have the electrical heating system inspected.

The front driver and passenger seats are warmed by electrical heating elements integrated directly into the seat cushions and seatbacks of your Nissan Versa.

1. To operate the heaters, first place the ignition switch in the active ON position.

2. Push the designated seat heater switch once to select the high setting. This will illuminate two indicator lights on the switch face. Push the switch a second time to select the low setting, which is indicated by a single illuminated light.

The internal heater is regulated by a built-in thermostat, which automatically cycles the heating elements on and off to maintain a safe and comfortable temperature. The indicator lights on the switch will remain illuminated as long as the system is turned on.

3. Push the switch a third time to turn the seat heater completely off (all indicator lights on the switch will go out).

4. Once the seat has reached a comfortable temperature, or before you exit your Nissan Versa, always make sure to push the switch and verify the heating system is fully turned off.
