WARNING

Do not ride in a moving vehicle when the seatback is reclined. This can be extremely dangerous. The shoulder belt will not be properly positioned against your body, losing its protective capability. In an accident, you could be forcefully thrown into the loose belt and receive severe neck, torso, or other serious injuries.

Additionally, riding in a reclined state increases the risk of submarining; you could easily slide under the lap belt and receive serious, potentially life-threatening internal injuries.
For the most effective protection and to ensure safety systems function as designed when the vehicle is in motion, the seat should be fully upright. Always sit well back and upright in the seat with both feet flat on the floor, keeping the seat properly adjusted to your height and reach.
After completing any manual seat adjustment, gently rock back and forth in the seat to confirm that the latching mechanism is securely locked into the tracks.
Do not leave young children unattended inside your Nissan Versa under any circumstances. Unwatched children could unknowingly activate switches, engage cabin controls, or release the parking brake, causing the vehicle to move. Such scenarios often lead to serious accidents and injuries.

Forward and backward

To slide the seat forward or backward, pull the adjustment lever up and hold it while you slide the seat assembly to your desired position. Once positioned comfortably relative to the steering wheel and pedals of your Nissan Versa, release the lever and try to slide the seat slightly to ensure it is locked firmly in position.

Reclining

To recline the seatback of your Nissan Versa, pull the adjustment lever up and lean back until you find a comfortable position. To bring the seatback forward again, simply pull the lever up while leaning your body forward, allowing the spring-loaded mechanism to raise the backrest. Release the lever completely to lock the seatback securely into your selected position.

The reclining feature allows precise customization of the seatback angle for occupants of different sizes, ensuring added comfort and helping to obtain a proper, safe seat belt fit over the shoulder and chest. Additionally, you can recline the seatback to allow occupants to rest, but only when the Nissan Versa is completely stopped and parked, with the transmission shift lever safely in the P (Park) or N (Neutral) position and the mechanical parking brake fully applied.

Seat lifter (driver's seat)

To optimize your driving line of sight and overall ergonomics, the driver's seat is equipped with a manual height adjustment system. Repeatedly pull up or push down on the adjusting lever located on the outer side of the seat cushion to adjust the seat height incrementally until your desired driving position is achieved.

1. Pull up on the release knob marked A on the shoulder of the seatback to unlock it, then gently fold each seatback down toward the front of the cabin to expand your cargo carrying capacity.

2. To return the rear seat of your Nissan Versa to its standard seating position, lift the seatback upward and push it firmly back into an upright position. Make sure to firmly press on the designated latching zones labeled A and B to engage the internal lock mechanism and secure the seatback in place.

WARNING

Never allow anyone to ride in the rear cargo area or on the rear seat when it is in the folded-down position. Use of these cargo spaces by passengers without proper safety restraints could easily result in severe, life-threatening injury or death in the event of an accident or a sudden, unexpected stop.
Properly secure all cargo with sturdy ropes or tie-down straps to help prevent it from sliding, shifting, or becoming airborne. Do not stack cargo higher than the seatbacks, as loose, unsecured items in your Nissan Versa can turn into dangerous projectiles during a sudden stop or collision, causing personal injury to the occupants.
When returning the rear seatbacks to their upright position, be absolutely certain they are completely secured and locked in the latched position. If they are not fully latched, passengers will not be protected properly and may be severely injured in an accident or during sudden deceleration.
Closely supervise children when they are around vehicles to prevent them from playing near or inside the trunk, avoiding the risk of them becoming trapped and locked in the hatch where they could suffer serious injuries or heatstroke. Keep your Nissan Versa locked with the rear seatback and trunk hatch securely latched when not in use, and always store the car keys out of reach of children.
